After the summer break we’re back with our monthly issue of the Spotlight.
This month we feature maybe one of the most ambitious projects ever attempted with Flash: DOFUS, a huge MMORPG (massive-multiplayer-online-rpg) created by the talented French guys of Ankama Studio.

We have a new multiplayer game/example online, called LettersGame. It’s based on SmartFoxServer PRO and it was kindly submitted by Chris Lindsey. Players will be able to interact with each other on a shared board and compose words with the available letters.

Thomas Jacobsen, head of research and development at IO Interactive and creator of the physics simulation and the 3D pathfinder for IO’s game “Hitman: Codename 47″, gave us permission to publish his well known article about Advanced Character Physics.
This paper is not specific to Flash programming, but it’s a great resource for game development in general.
