New prototype

A new prototype in our Articles section: in reply to many requests we received, Magnetos has developed this Flash movie in which you can control a tank and it’s rotating turret. The tank also fires and leaves tracks on the ground.

2iceMP server

2iceMP server is an interesting flash multiuser/multiplayer project that is going on at www.ventoline.com.
The server is going to be released very soon as LGPL and we plan to have an interview with the 2iceMP team guys.

Tonypa’s tile-based tutorial

Major update in our Articles section: we’ve added a great series of tutorials by Tonypa.
They cover many different aspects of tile-based games like moving, shooting, jumping, collisions and using different views. (top-down, side view, isometric)
This big tutorial is made up of 21 chapters: a must-read for everyone looking for tilebased info!

Director MX 2004 trial is out

The trial of Director MX 2004 is available today for download from the Macromedia site.
One of the best features for all flash developers is that Director now incorporates a new Javascript syntax in alternative to Lingo. Maybe many actionscripters will like this news!
